European Qualifications Passport for Refugees

The European Qualifications Passport for Refugees is an international instrument that allows individuals to confirm their qualifications in a European country in case the documents confirming their education are lost. Primarily, such a passport is necessary for refugees or temporarily protected persons who have fled from war.

Poland also joined the project "European Qualifications Passport for Refugees EQPR," coordinated by the Council of Europe, in 2022.

EQPR will be needed by refugees or temporarily protected persons to obtain education or employment in Poland, as well as in other European countries. And studying at a university or a work contract will subsequently allow for the issuance of other types of residence permits, for example, in case of the cancellation of temporary protection.

Stages of obtaining EQPR:

1. Registration on the portal https://coe.diplo-me.eu and filling out a form with a self-assessment of qualifications. It is necessary to add any documents that may indicate the obtained education.
2. Interview with qualified specialists who are familiar with the education system in the applicant's country and can assess their knowledge. The interview is conducted in the language that the applicant is best at and can describe their learning experience. Upon a positive assessment of the results, the applicant receives the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees.

EQPR can be used in other participating countries of the project (England, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Netherlands) if necessary.
