Blue card is a program that allows highly qualified professionals to obtain a residence permit in the country that issues it under simpler conditions.

In Polish law, the term "Highly Qualified Work" is more commonly used, but the different name does not change the content and method of issuance.

In the Republic of Poland it is possible to issue such a card if:

- The applicant has a higher education in the specialty required for the job or 5 years of confirmed work experience in the given position (labor, FOP);
- The applicant has sufficient income - at least 150% of the average salary in Poland;
- The contract with the employer is signed for a period of 1 year or more.
